Design A Sock Contest - DASC 2015

A couple months ago, I sent in a few designs to the "Design-a-Sock Contest 2015" by Sock it To Me. I love their socks, and I thought how awesome would it be to have one of my designs made into a sock? Unfortunately, my submissions didn't get picked, but I had a lot of fun designing them, and as I am in the process of revamping my website, I thought, why not give these socks a little love and share them here?

If Sock It To Me didn't like them, their loss! I still think they're pretty funny :)

Submission 1:

My first idea was to have two different characters on each ankle, in a running pose, so that when the wearer would walk, they would look like the characters were running after each other. I naturally chose to draw a policeman and a burglar in a retro style.

That was all I wanted to submit, but I was having way too much fun designing socks, so I rode the wave and continued drawing vintage-inspired characters. I came up with a retro Boxing Man, which I can imagine being worn by a stylish dandy in a light beige three-piece suit.

As a last idea, I made up a "Cocktail Sock", for a night on the town!

If I can find a way to print these socks, I think I'll try! They're too much fun to go to waste!
